What is a Depo Provera injection?

Depo Provera uses a hormone to prevent pregnancy. It’s given by injection. Each injection protects you from pregnancy for at least 13 weeks.
You need to have the injection every 13 weeks if you don’t want to get pregnant.

How do you get a Depo Provera injection?

Book an appointment with us to get a Depo Provera injection. It’s a good idea to make repeat appointments in advance — so you don't miss an injection.

What does an appointment cost?

It’s cheaper to get condoms on prescription from one of our clinics, a Sexual Health Centre, or a doctor.
Our appointments are free for New Zealand residents under 22 years old. If you are 22 years, or older, you’ll pay our standard appointment fees – unless you have a Community Services Card.
If you’re not a New Zealand resident, you’ll need to pay non-resident fees.
